What is MMD?
The MMD measurement system
MMD is Alpha Teknoloji’s modular kiln inspection system. It uses an encoder wheel to measure the circumference and diameter of kiln shells, tyres, and support rollers. High-precision inductive sensors measure tyre axial runout, support roller shaft deflection, and girth gear axial runout and radial eccentricity. A laser distance sensor can be used for the same measurements where sensor access is difficult — all on running kilns, no shutdown required.

- Circumference and diameter of kiln shells, tyres, and support rollers — measured with the encoder wheel
- Tyre axial runout — measured with high-precision inductive sensors or a laser distance sensor where access is limited
- Support roller shaft deflection — measured with high-precision inductive sensors or a laser distance sensor where access is limited
- Girth gear axial runout and radial eccentricity — measured with high-precision inductive sensors or a laser distance sensor where access is limited
- Real-time TFT LCD display with USB data export
- IP65-rated, operates from −20°C to +80°C
